Operation MORLOP Continues Clear Up After Skripal Poisoning
Military personnel from the British Army and the Royal Air Force have commenced work today in support of DEFRA and the civil authorities with the recovery operation in Salisbury, Wiltshire in the aftermath of the nerve agent attack in March.
20 Wing RAF Regiment and 22 Engineer Regiment Deployed in Salisbury Clear Up
Personnel from Suffolk based 20 Wing Royal Air Force Regiment and Wiltshire based 22 Engineer Regiment are working in The Maltings Shopping Centre to remove material in accordance with direction by DEFRA.
Around 190 military personnel in total will assist in the recovery operation providing key skills, equipment and capability.
The Ministry of Defence regularly assists the emergency services and local authorities in the UK. Military assistance will continue as necessary during Salisbury’s return to normality.
