Russian Counter-Terrorism in Tajikistan
Russia and Tajikistan in Joint Counter-Terrorism Exercise
In accordance with the plan of co-operation between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Defence Ministry, joint Russia-Tajikistan counter-terrorist exercise has started in Tajikistan. The exercise began on 27 March and will last until 30 March, 2017.
The servicemen will improve co-operation between the force groupings while countering conditional illegal armed formations.
Operational groups of the Central MD military control bodies and 201st military base as well as military units and formations of the Central military district, and aviation group, including aircraft of long-range, transport, front and army aviation, are involved in the exercise.
The exercise is held in the Khatlon region as well as at the ranges of Harbmaidon, Momirak, Moskovsky, Laur, and Sambuli.
