Bulgaria’s Armed Forces comprise Land Forces, Air Force and Navy. According to 2014 figures, 30,400 (80.1%) are active military personnel and 8,100 (11.9%) are civilian personnel. The land component is the largest service with around 18,000 serving personnel. Spending ranges from 1.98% GDP (2009) to 1.3% GDP (2010).
