Man Shot Dead in London Terror Attack
TERROR struck at the heart of British democracy this afternoon as knifemen attempted to storm the Houses of Parliament and members of the public were mown down on the street outside, leaving at least one person dead.
Up to a dozen people have been run down on Westminster Bridge as a police officer was stabbed by a knife-wielding attacker trying to force his way into the Houses of Parliament in London this afternoon. The attacker, described by witnesses as Asian-looking, was shot dead by the police. Metropolitan Police confirmed that the incident was being treated as a terrorist attack.
As Brussels remembers the terrible Islamic terrorist attack that took place one year ago, London has become the next scene of horror.
A group of French school children were hit by a car on Westminster Bridge. Others jumped into the River Thames to avoid being killed. The car continued on to Parliament where a knifeman got out and attacked a policeman on guard duty. The assailant was shot dead by other officers on the scene.
A suspicious package was also discovered at Parliament. There were also reports of shots being fired in Parliament Square.
The incident fits the Islamic State’s MO, but as yet no one has claimed responsibility for the attack. Intercepted messages from an encrypted ISIS source reveal ISIS celebrating the incident as the “blessed London attack.”
